Jamie Greene

MSP for West Scotland

Jamie Greene is the Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP for West Scotland. Born and bred in Greenock, he went to James Watt College to study. Prior to politics he had a successful career as an entrepreneur in broadcast media and digital technology. He lived and worked across the UK and overseas and speaks fluent French and Spanish as a result.

Jamie has served in the Scottish Parliament since 2016 and has served on a number of committees including: Rural Affairs and Islands, Transport, Equalities, Education, and Justice.

He is currently deputy convener of the Public Audit Committee at Holyrood and Deputy Chair of the Scottish Commission for Public Audit, a non-parliamentary board which oversees Audit Scotland.

He is also co-convener for cross-party groups on LGBTI+ and Taiwan, and a member of many others.

A passionate campaigner for equality and inclusion and a keen participant in the activities of the Commonwealth Parliamentary association.  

Outside of politics he enjoys travel, silversmith and jeweller making, sewing bee, languages, painting and he is currently human to Astro, a rescue dog from Romania.
