Mike Andersen

Candidate for Edinburgh North and Leith

Mike Andersen

Mike Andersen is a dedicated community advocate and the Liberal Democrat candidate for Edinburgh North and Leith. Originally from South Africa, Mike practised as a litigation lawyer before relocating to Edinburgh with his husband and their dog.

Passionate about his adopted country, Mike quickly became an active member of the Liberal Democrats to give back to his community. Mike is committed to restoring trust in politics, reducing the cost of living so people can live without worrying about their bills, and protecting Edinburgh’s natural environment, especially the Water of Leith and the Forth.

He is genuinely saddened by the loss of faith in politics and wants to see a competent government that serves the people, not self-interest or political gain. “I believe we should be able to trust the people we send to Westminster, knowing they represent us and speak for their constituents. Voters need to feel their vote matters and there is hope for better things to come. I want to be the local champion who fights for the voice of Edinburgh North and Leith.”

Mike embodies the spirit of change, offering a fresh perspective and steadfast commitment to community service, equality, and integrity in Edinburgh North and Leith.
