Lung cancer screening

In Scotland, more people die of lung cancer than any other form of the disease. Survival rates aren’t much better than they were in the 1970s.

The UK National Screening Committee recommended the whole UK introduce targeted lung cancer screening to help prevent it, or catch it early.

That's being rolled out across the whole of England, but Scots are missing out on this life-saving detection service. Experts have called it a ‘game changer’ because it could save hundreds of lives every year here.

A targeted lung cancer screening programme for Scotland

We call on the Scottish Government to roll out a targeted lung cancer screening programme for Scotland.
