SNP mismanagement leaving A&E stuck in permanent crisis
Responding to new figures showing only 62.9% of people attending A&E were seen within the 4 hour target in the week ending 2nd November 2025, while 4,017 people waited over 8 hours and 1,776 waited over 12 hours, Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
"Every week thousands on thousands of people are stuck waiting far too long to be seen at A&E. 12 hour waits used to be an anomaly, but now under the SNP they're a regular occurrence.
"Winter typically brings the worst pressures at A&E, yet we have been seeing crisis level waiting times for months already. The SNP Government's mismanagement of the health service has left A&E trapped in a state of permanent crisis.
"We need to see the Scottish Government start taking serious action to support the staff facing these pressure cooker conditions. Scotland's A&E patients deserve better - and with the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can vote for change with fairness at its heart."
