Sluggish Swinney skipping Question Time

Responding to reports that John Swinney is refusing to take part in a Scottish Leaders edition of BBC Question Time taking place in Aberdeen on Thursday, Scottish Liberal Democrat campaign chair Wendy Chamberlain MP said:

"Dodging scrutiny like this is very Boris Johnson-like behaviour.

"Is John Swinney skipping the debate because he can't defend his terrible record?

"Or is he skipping it because he's out of touch, sluggish and uninspiring onstage?

"Or is he taking the election result for granted and won't lower himself to face public questioning?

"Scottish Liberal Democrats will waste no opportunity to take our energetic and upbeat campaign to voters. No matter where you are, if back us on the peach regional ballot paper we can oust the SNP and deliver change with fairness at its heart."
