Scottish Liberal Democrats can deliver change with fairness at its heart
Ahead of a visit to a tourism business in St Andrews and the first TV debate, Scottish Liberal Democrat deputy leader Wendy Chamberlain has set out the key differences between her party’s approach and that of the other major parties, and promised to deliver change with fairness at its heart.
Wendy Chamberlain took aim at the other parties, warning that none of them can deliver the change that Scotland needs.
Wendy Chamberlain said:
“The SNP have been in office for 19 years. They are the cause of the ferries fiasco, Scottish education is now just average and the NHS is on its knees. The answer to none of Scotland’s problems is a third decade of the SNP.
“When the Conservatives were in charge, Boris Johnson partied while people died and Liz Truss sent mortgage rates skyrocketing.
“Labour have been a massive disappointment, hitting employers and farmers with new taxes and failing to stand up to Donald Trump.
“Reform promise change but it is miserable and small-minded. They have absorbed many of the worst former Conservative ministers and now they are out campaigning for tax cuts for millionaires and for racist deportations.
“Scottish Liberal Democrats want to show that things can get better. Over the past week we have set out plans to cut fuel duty, fix the crisis in social care and end the ferries fiasco for good.
“If voters back is in the ten constituencies where we are neck and neck with the SNP and on the peach regional ballot across the country, they will get hardworking local champions committed to action on the things that matter most like delivering first-rate health care – so you can see your GP, dentist or mental health professional when you need them and helping you with the cost of living.”
