Scot Lib Dems set out key election areas on new national leaflet
With 100 days to go until the Scottish Parliament election, Scottish Liberal Democrats have written to voters in regions across Scotland setting out their key priorities for the forthcoming election.
Under the banner “Change with fairness at its heart”, the party’s campaign will focus on:
- Delivering first-rate health services in local communities so everyone can see a GP, dentist or mental health professional when they need one.
- Helping households with the cost-of-living crisis by insulating cold homes and using Scottish renewable energy to drive down bills
- Getting Scotland moving again by investing in roads, ferries and improving public transport
- Bringing Scottish education back to its best with expanded pupil support in every school
The leaflet is being delivered in regions across Scotland, with the party hoping to make big gains on the peach regional ballot.
It emphasises the party’s record number of Westminster MPs, growing numbers of local councillors and defections from the Scottish Conservative party.
Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said:
“Scotland has so much going for it. But right now it feels like our country simply isn’t working.
“Household bills are soaring. The long waits to see your GP. The national embarrassment of the ferries fiasco. And Scottish education just isn’t what it used to be.
“People right across our country are tired and frustrated. They’re right to be.
“The Scottish Liberal Democrats believe Scotland deserves better than this. We believe in fairness for everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from.
“That’s why we have a realistic plan to get things done. In May, every vote for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on the peach ballot paper will deliver change with fairness at its heart.”
