Commenting on this morning's news that three Scottish Green councillors and a second placed list candidate have defected to Jeremy Corbyn's new party, Scottish Liberal Democrat lead candidate for Glasgow Daniel O'Malley said:

"This split is a bad omen for Ross Greer and Gillian Mackay's leadership.

"It's clear that the Scottish Greens are in meltdown and going backwards in the polls because people associate them with petty squabbling and scandals like the collapse of the deposit return scheme.

"While the People's Front of Judea and the Judean People's Front scrap over what shade of red the red flag should be, Scottish Liberal Democrats will get on with campaigning on health, education and getting Glasgow moving. Scotland deserves better and with the Scottish Liberal Democrats, you can vote for it on your peach regional election ballot."
