Rennie: SNP have put skills and further education in “fragile state”

Responding to the chair of the Colleges Principals Group at Colleges Scotland telling MSPs that the further education sector is "hanging on by our fingernails” and that it is now “in a very fragile state”, Scottish Liberal Democrat Willie Rennie MSP said:
“The SNP have guillotined college budgets over many years.
“Those cuts were incredibly short-sighted because they have contributed to a lack of skilled staff in key areas, including social care.
“My party secured more money for colleges in the budget for the year ahead, so now it’s down to the government to get that funding to where it’s needed most.”
