Rennie comments on Yousaf interview and launch event

Responding to Humza Yousaf declaring that the SNP’s independence campaign will not end, regardless of election result, and today’s launch event, Willie Rennie MSP said:

“With public services in a mess and his party discipline breaking down, the only thing Humza Yousaf has left is to retreat back into his comfort zone and start talking about breaking up the UK.

“It seems as if he is already conceding that the SNP are going to go backwards in this year’s election.

“His premature move is not going to work because even many those who once voted for independence can see that no matter how many “launch” events the SNP hold, they cannot escape their terrible record on the NHS, education and the environment.

“People are sick of a government that talks to itself rather than putting the public services people rely on first. Scottish Liberal Democrats are determined to play our part in the change that Scotland so desperately needs.”
