Rennie comments on new bullying figures

Responding to new figures uncovered by the Herald newspaper that show there have been more than 64,000 bullying incidents in Scottish schools over the past five years, Scottish Liberal Democrat education spokesperson Willie Rennie MSP said:

“This is a stark reflection of rising behaviour problems in schools.

“The SNP have excelled at churning out long and ineffective guidance that leaves teachers no clearer about what action they should take.

“Councils and schools should be empowered to respond to bullying and violence appropriately.”
