Out of touch Offord threatening to cut colleges and hospital inspections

Responding to analysis from IFS Scotland which warns that Reform UK's proposed tax policy would be funded by cuts to bodies such as the Scottish Funding Council which funds colleges and universities, and Healthcare Improvement Scotland which carries out inspections of health and social care facilities, Scottish Liberal Democrat finance spokesperson Jamie Greene said:

“Lord Offord is so out of touch he even seems to be proposing cutting inspections of hospitals and care facilities.

“A tax cut for Lord Offord shouldn’t come at the expense of clean hospitals and people going to college to learn new skills and better themselves.

“From more help on business rates to a real skills agenda, only the Scottish Liberal Democrats are offering a realistic plan for delivering a high-skilled, high-wage economy.

“Scotland needs change but it needs to be change with fairness at its heart. No matter where you are, if you want to get Scotland back to its best, back Scottish Liberal Democrats on your peach, regional ballot at May’s election.”
