McArthur: New climate targets must be backed by action

Responding to the Scottish Government’s announcement of new climate targets, Scottish Liberal Democrat Liam McArthur MSP said:

“The Scottish Government must learn from its past failures and back up these new targets with action, otherwise they risk becoming meaningless yet again.

“To date, the SNP have failed to do the hard graft of insulating homes, creating good jobs and making sure everyone benefits from the transition to net zero.

“If these targets are to be met, the SNP need to stop blowing hot air and get on with the job.”
