Lib Dems calls on Labour to ‘end this soap opera’ as Prime Minister resigns
Following the resignation of Keir Starmer as Prime Minister and Leader of the Labour party, the Liberal Democrat Scottish Affairs spokesperson Susan Murray MP has called for a fundamental shift in British politics.
The MP for Mid Dumbartonshire has called for an end to the “soap opera” in Number 10, as the UK faces its 7th Prime Minister in just 10 years.
The Liberal Democrats are urging Keir Starmer’s successor to create real change for local people on the cost of living and the NHS.
Responding to Keir Starmer’s resignation, Susan Murray said:
“People across Scotland are sick of being let down by an endless merry-go-round of Prime Ministers, while nothing really changes for them.
“Labour promised change but we’ve ended up with the same old chaos as under the Conservatives.
“It’s time to end this Westminster soap opera and get on with delivering positive change for people in our community.
"That means tackling soaring bills to put money back in people’s pockets and fixing the NHS.
"Whoever becomes Prime Minister needs to end the chaos and focus on getting the country back on track.”
