Just half of stroke patients are getting comprehensive care
Responding to a new report which found that only around 56.7% of the 11,048 Scots who had a stroke last year got access to all eligible components of the care bundle intended for stroke treatment, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
“Stroke patients are still being deprived access to this life-saving care.
“By failing to invest properly in stroke care, the SNP are risking the lives of some of the most vulnerable patients.
“Scottish Liberal Democrats want to help people spend more years of their life in good health. That’s why our manifesto called for guaranteed 24/7 access to thrombectomy in stroke services, delivering better long-term outcomes for patients.
“We need a government that will fix our NHS and guarantee the right care for everyone; the SNP have proved they are not up to the task.”
