Responding to Lord Malcolm Offord announcing that he will stand as Reform’s candidate in Inverclyde, Scottish Liberal Democrat Jamie Greene MSP said:

"There is one thing Malcolm Offord and I agree on, that the Tory party is finished.

"But while I left because it had become toxic to the point of absurd, he clearly believes it didn’t go far enough.

"Whilst Lord Malcom was making millions in finance, swanning around the House of Lords or snapping up mansions and yachts, I’ll gladly put my ten-year record of standing up for Inverclyde against his any day.

"The people of Greenock and Inverclyde can choose between the boy from the Gibshill estate who works for his hometown every day in parliament, or they can choose the chancer millionaire who magically turns up weeks from an election and pretends he cares about our community. I trust the good people of Greenock to see through his toxic divisive language and say no thanks to Reform."
