Greene responds to Offord comments on antisemitism

Responding to Lord Malcolm Offord’s comments about the Golders Green attack, Scottish Liberal Democrat candidate for Inverclyde Jamie Greene said: 

“I wrote to Lord Offord when he was appointed Reform UK’s branch office manager to ask him why he described Nigel Farage making hissing noises at Jewish people, to imitate the sound of escaping gas, and remarks such as “Hitler was right” as “intemperate language”. Obviously he didn't respond.

“I don’t think any Jewish person will consider him a reliable ally against antisemitism. He has clearly shown that he will pick and choose when to challenge this poison depending on when it is convenient for him.

“Political leaders should be setting a good example by consistently and clearly calling out antisemitic bile."
