Greene responds to NHS Ayrshire and Arran Stage 4 escalation

Responding to the news that the financial status of NHS Ayrshire and Arran has been escalated to stage 4 of the government's risk framework, due to pressures on the health board’s finances which the Auditor General previously described as "unprecedented", Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson Jamie Greene MSP said:

“The SNP have made a total mess of managing health boards. Their chaos is making life extremely difficult for patients and staff.

“John Swinney’s government has no long-term strategy or vision for our NHS, which is why yet another health board has been pushed to the point of crisis.

“Scottish Liberal Democrats have got a realistic plan to get everyone the healthcare they need when they need it. That starts by getting health boards back on their feet and making sure the right management is in place.

“In May, every vote for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on your second peach ballot paper will be a vote to deliver that.”
