Greene responds to IFS verdict on Reform manifesto
The Institute for Fiscal Studies has issued a devastating analysis of Reform UK's Scottish manifesto, saying it is "not credible", "unserious at best", and "a mirage created by a misunderstanding or misrepresentation of the current devolution settlement".
Responding to the IFS's damning verdict, Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson Jamie Greene MSP said:
"Coming after a clown show of a launch event and the deselection of a candidate 24 hours after they were announced, this is further confirmation that Reform UK are not a party to be taken seriously.
"Malcolm Offord and Nigel Farage's offer to Scottish voters is incoherent to the point of insult, and will do nothing to fix public services in dire need of repair after two decades of mismanagement.
"Scottish Liberal Democrats believe that Scotland deserves better. It deserves change with fairness at its heart. If you want to send this party of keyboard warriors and failed Tories packing in seven weeks' time, you should back Scottish Liberal Democrats on your peach regional ballot."
