Greene comments on latest Glen Sannox fiasco

Responding to the news that ferries on the main route to Arran have been suspended due to a fresh technical problem with the MV Glen Sannox, which only took its maiden voyage last year, Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson and West Scotland MSP Jamie Greene said:

“Just when you think the SNP ferry fiasco couldn’t get any worse, this happens.

“First, they painted on its windows, then they blew its budget by a hundred million pounds, and now this embattled vessel feels about as new as the old ones it was meant to be replacing.

“Islanders, taxpayers, yard workers and businesses all deserve better than this sorry mess.

“By backing the Scottish Liberal Democrats on your second, peach, regional ballot paper in May, you can vote for a party which will introduce a new ferries bill to guarantee vessels are fit for purpose."
