Cole-Hamilton responds to Scottish Water Price Hike

Responding to reports in the Sunday Mail that Scottish Water intends to raise prices by 29% over 3 years, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said:

"The government owned water company pushing through an eye watering price hike during a cost of living crisis would be bad enough, but we are also in the middle of a sewage crisis.

"There were 14,000 sewage dumps last year alone, likely a significant underestimate given that only 4% of discharges are monitored, all the while the government owned water company pockets bumper bonuses.

"It is shameful that Scottish Water expect the public to pick up the tab and pay 29% more for this level of service."
