Cole-Hamilton comments on Swinney pushing for another independence referendum

Responding to First Minister John Swinney calling for another independence referendum in a phone call with the new Prime Minister, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:

“John Swinney should give it a rest. Scotland has real problems like the state of our NHS and violence in our schools but his first priority is always how to break up the UK.

“If he’s really concerned about where power lies, perhaps he could stop centralising control over everything in the hands of SNP ministers and begin to hand power back to our cities, towns and communities.

“Andy Burnham is right to tell him to focus on practical measures.”
