Cole-Hamilton comments on new Green co-leaders

Responding to the election of Gillian Mackay and Ross Greer as Scottish Green co-leaders, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton said:

“I would like to congratulate Ross and Gillian on being appointed as co-leaders of their party.

“They will have quite a challenge distancing the Greens from their disastrous spell in government in which they wasted millions of pounds on a deposit return scheme that never got off the ground, championed plans for Scotland’s seas that were despised by coastal communities and repeatedly missed climate emissions targets.

“My party are committed to cleaning up Scotland’s rivers and waterways and using Scottish renewables to cut household energy bills. If you believe Scotland’s environment deserves better, you should back Scottish Liberal Democrats on the peach-coloured regional ballot next May.”
