Speaking ahead of SNP conference, Scottish Liberal Democrat election campaign chair Wendy Chamberlain MP said:

“John Swinney is yesterday’s man. He’s had two decades but Scotland is going in the wrong direction. No wonder people are tired and frustrated and his party has shed a third of its support.

“Scottish Liberal Democrats can deliver change with fairness at its heart. Unlike the nationalists we are focused on the issues that really matter, like delivering first-rate health care – so you can see your GP, dentist or mental health professional when you need them.

“In constituencies from Argyll & Bute to Edinburgh Northern, we are on the verge of winning against the SNP and denying them the majority that John Swinney craves, but no matter where you live, every vote for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on the second peach ballot will deliver change with fairness at its heart and a strong local representative for your area.”
