Anti-social behaviour in South Queensferry

Queensferry has had significant issues with anti-social behaviour from noisy racing cars and bikes over a number of years. We know it is an issue which causes huge frustration and distress throughout the entire town.  It is also seriously affecting businesses, especially the Hawes Inn, and the reputation of South Queensferry itself.

One proposed way of combating the issue would be to close the Hawes Car Park from 10pm-6am each night.

Many residents have supported this idea saying it would remove a popular gathering point for people causing the anti-social behaviour during these hours. Given the car park is the main viewing point for the Forth Bridge, closing the car park from late at night could prevent or greatly reduce the attractiveness of Queensferry as a place for the people causing the anti-social behaviour.

However, other residents have opposed the idea, saying that closing the Hawes car park will only move the problem elsewhere, with those causing the anti-social behaviour instead congregating in other parts of the town, such as the Forth Bridges viewing area at Ferry Muir, at the Sports Hub, or at the Dalmeny Station car park.
