Morven-May MacCallum is an author and campaigner from the Black Isle. Drawing on her own experience of living with Lyme disease, she is dedicated to raising awareness of the condition and to the need for better prevention and treatment, through media appearances and talks across Scotland. She has two published novels and holds a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing.
In 2022, Morven-May was elected to represent the Black Isle ward in Highland Council. She campaigned there for stronger protections against drink spiking, winning support from councillors across the chamber, and has worked on road safety, local sustainability and support for community programmes.
In May 2026, Morven-May was elected to represent the Highlands and Islands region for the Scottish Liberal Democrats, where she continues to campaign for people living with Lyme disease and other chronic conditions. She is currently the party’s spokesperson for Social Justice, Housing and Local Government.
