Michael Turvey

Candidate for West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine

Michael Turvey

Michael is a passionate believer in a fairer society and the freedom that gives individuals and communities to make choices that work best for them. Educated in Law in the UK and Europe, he is committed to accountable and transparent representation at Westminster where promises are not just made, but are delivered.

Living in a small community in the constituency with his wife and children, Michael is well acquainted with the additional pressures on those living, working and running a business in rural areas.  He is determined to give Aberdeenshire a stronger voice and ensure it is not pushed aside in favour of the ‘Central Belt’.

His 17 years working in the Oil and Gas industry give him a deep understanding of the North East economy and the importance of the energy industry at a local and national level. A fair and orderly transition away from fossil fuels is possible without destroying jobs and communities and industrialising the countryside. Michael has the knowledge and experience to deliver what is needed.

Michael’s love of the constituency is shown in the considerable work he has done raising funds and supporting local good causes and community projects in the area.  He will continue to help communities become stronger and more resilient to external influences such as the cost of living crisis.

West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine has a proud Liberal Democrat history and the time has come to return a candidate who can provide stable and robust representation in a diverse constituency which stretches from the coast to the Cairngorms.
