Commenting on Boris Johnson's visit to Northern Ireland, in which he failed to address any media, Liberal Democrat Northern Ireland spokesperson Alistair Carmichael said:
"Another poor show from Johnson in Northern Ireland.
"It is unfortunate that Johnson refused to do a press conference but was happy to spend his time having dinner with the DUP last night.
"All five of the main parties in Northern Ireland took questions from the media following their meetings with the Prime Minister. But Johnson, perhaps scared of saying the wrong thing or being exposed as having no plan for securing the future of Northern Ireland, opted out of media scrutiny.
"There is no version of Brexit that will work for Northern Ireland. Liberal Democrats will ensure there is no hard border in Northern Ireland by stopping Brexit."
