SNP’s new “right to buy” harming tenants

The Ferret’s latest housing investigation has revealed the first of the 1491 houses built under the Scottish Government’s National Housing Trust programme have begun to be sold off, in a move which has been condemned as the SNP reviving the “right to buy”.

Responding to the story, Liberal Democrat housing spokesperson Caron Lindsay said:

“It’s extremely worrying that people who can’t afford to buy these houses will have their homes sold out from underneath them. The Scottish Government must set out how tenants will be affected in the coming months and years, and should explore how to best support the thousands of people who will want to remain in their homes.”
