Scottish Liberal Democrat economy spokesperson and Highlands councillor Carolyn Caddick has today encouraged Highland Council to use the new Inverness City region deal as an opportunity to transform investment in the region.
The £315m deal was formally signed off in Invergordon today.
Ms Caddick said
“The City Deal process was spearheaded by the Liberal Democrats in government and I’m delighted to see this deal finally signed off on.
“This deal is a huge opportunity to improve infrastructure and bring much-needed investment to the region.
“However, it’s now essential that this money is invested in ways that will benefit the wider region, not just Inverness itself.”
