Commenting on new figures which show that Scottish rail users are set to pay hundreds of pounds more for annual season tickets, Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson Mike Rumbles MSP said:
“Rail users are shelling out thousands of pounds a year to a firm whose action and improvement plans arrive more regularly than their trains.
“Passengers want reliable, punctual train travel that does what it says on the posters. Instead passengers get delays, cancellations and overcrowded trains.
“It’s time Scotland’s rail franchise was in fresh hands.”
