Rennie: SNP in denial over Growth Commission cuts

Responding to the SNP conference's debate on the Growth Commission, Scottish Liberal democrat leader Willie Rennie said:

“Derek Mackay is repeating the mistakes that lost the SNP the independence referendum in 2014. The SNP cannot demand or insist that the rest of UK would grant an independent Scotland control of the pound. Without control Scotland would be at the mercy of decisions made elsewhere.”

"The SNP Growth Commission is loaded with devastating home truths for the SNP.

"Their own economic blueprint admits that independence would mean big cuts to public services but sadly too many SNP ministers are in denial about the reality of their plans.

"Even if independence meant huge cuts to public services, some nationalists would still be in favour. That's what happens when you put constitutional grievances ahead of the services that people rely on every day."
