Responding to the news that Babcock, based in Rosyth, has announced 150 job losses, local MSP Willie Rennie reacted by saying:
“Even though this reduction in the workforce at Rosyth was expected, following the peak of employment to construct the aircraft carriers, this is still a tough day.
"These are skilled, talented positions that add a significant amount to the local economy.
"Having visited Babcock on Monday I know the management team are very keen to retain the talented workers in other parts of the business whilst others may choose to accept a voluntary package.”
