Speaking after the Scottish Parliament voted to revoke Article 50, Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Willie Rennie said:
"There is a way to make this torture stop. We can break out of this stalemate by letting the people decide.
"If parliament can’t build a consensus. If leavers can’t build a consensus. The people should decide.
"That’s why I support a public vote on the deal, with the option to remain. And if the EU and UK can’t make the time for that to happen we should revoke article 50 to give us that time."
