Rennie: Labour voters should lend us a vote to stop Farage and send a message on Brexit

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie has today called for Labour voters to “lend us a vote to stop Farage and send a message on Brexit” as a new European election poll showed the Liberal Democrats overtaking Labour and closing the gap to the Brexit party.

On a visit to Milngavie & Bearden’s Men’s Shed mental health initiative with Liberal Democrat deputy leader Jo Swinson, Mr Rennie said:

“Nigel Farage is one of the chief culprits responsible for the chaos facing our country. Now he fancies himself as the solution too.

“With the Liberal Democrats soaring in the polls, it is clear that people want a party that will confront the Brexit Party head on and say “you’re wrong and your politics of division have no place in Scotland”.

“Labour voters outraged at their own party’s mealy-mouthed approach should lend us their votes to stop Farage and send a message that the people of Scotland want to remain in the EU.

“We need to put a stop to Brexit so we can focus on what matters; investing in education and people’s mental health and well-being”.
