No difference between Corbyn and May as Labour bosses block single market vote

Responding to reports that Scottish Labour will not allow party members to debate remaining in the single market at their Scottish conference, Scottish Liberal Democrat Europe spokesperson Tavish Scott MSP said:

"The TUC and the vast majority of Labour members want to remain in the single market. Only Jeremy Corbyn and his hardliners do not, which is why party bosses are so keen to stitch things up and keep a proper debate off the agenda.

"Labour moderates keep hoping that Corbyn will have an 11th hour change of heart but it is difficult to spot any real difference between Corbyn and Theresa May on Europe.

"There is no such thing as a jobs first Brexit. Scottish Labour should recognise this and back our calls for a vote on the final deal with the option of an exit from Brexit."
