Let them eat value: Conservatives living in a parallel universe

Responding to George Eustice saying people could swap to value brands to weather the cost of living crisis, Liberal Democrat Work & Pensions spokesperson Wendy Chamberlain MP said:

"These comments show George Eustice and the Conservatives are living in a parallel universe. Families and pensioners who can't afford their weekly shop need more help, not patronising advice from a clueless minister.

"This is the stark reality of Boris Johnson’s Britain. Oil and gas giants are raking in billions, while families are told to buy value food and pensioners are riding around on buses to keep warm.

"Tomorrow's elections are a chance to tell the Conservatives that enough is enough. A vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote for an emergency tax cut, putting an average of £600 back in the pockets of every family."
