Jenny Marr
Ettrick, Roxburgh and Berwickshire

Born and brought up in Selkirk, from an early age Jenny learned the value of public service. Her mother was a classroom assistant at Knowepark Primary School and was a stalwart of the community, volunteering with a local children’s’ country dancing class and a group supporting the elderly in the town. Her grandfather’s background in agricultural engineering has meant she has always appreciated the specific needs of a rural economy.

In 2010 Jenny graduated from the University of Aberdeen, with an honours MA in Politics and International Relations.

From there she worked in the third sector as a fundraising assistant for Marie Curie, and then for international oil company National Oilwell Varco Mission Products handling customs and logistics for their Dyce office.

In 2013 she made the jump to rural Aberdeenshire to work for Sir Robert Smith MP and latterly Mike Rumbles MSP and Christine Jardine MP, before moving South to work for Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP first as a Parliamentary Researcher and now Office Manager.
