Candidate for Aberdeenshire East
Conrad is a charted chemical engineer with over a decade of experience in the North Sea’s oil and gas industry. As a graduate of Imperial College, he is a firm believer that science and technology are pivotal in the fight against climate change. Conrad considers that the technical skills and experience found in North East Scotland are vital to delivering the green recovery that Scotland, the UK and the world has to embrace.
Conrad has diverse industrial experience. Being elected twice as the Member Nominated Trustee of a pension scheme has reaffirmed his belief that pension savings should be simple, safe, and supported by government. Working in the Oil and Gas industry he has seen the devastating impact that the pandemic has had on peoples’ livelihoods, with 2020 seeing 12,000 UK jobs in the Oil and Gas industry alone.
The Scottish Parliament election in May is an opportunity for change in Aberdeenshire East. Conrad is campaigning to prioritise recovery over any referendum. He wants to focus on creating local jobs, improving Scotland’s education and mental health services, and winning fair funding for NHS Grampian. Put simply, Conrad wants to Put Recovery First.
