Commenting on the news, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Jim Hume said:
“Waits of up to 36 weeks for rehabilitation visits stands completely at odds with efforts to ensure more older people are cared for at home instead of in a hospital. This only serves to put further pressure on our hospitals with the increase of emergency admissions or even long term admission to hospitals.
“These figures show once again that SNP mismanagement of the NHS is failing older people. With an ageing population which is living longer lives and for longer in periods of ill health, the delivery of these key services needs to shape up and it needs the support of government to do that."
