Responding to the SNP’s Growth Commission report, Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Willie Rennie said:
“The SNP could make a much more positive impact on Scotland by investing in mental health, education and skills than it can by developing laborious, costly and risky economic theories to back up independence, while evading key questions on currency arrangements and shared assets.
“The SNP have failed again to convince people about their currency arrangements and failing to set out the true cost will simply raise even more concerns and questions.
“The SNP should be charting out a positive future for Scotland, not bogged down by how we may or may not manage to pay for independence.
“We should not be compounding the chaos of Brexit with the chaos of independence.”
