Scott on 50p coin: “Brexit isn’t something to celebrate”

Responding to reports that the Chancellor is expected to announce the launch of a 50p Brexit coin in the budget, Scottish Liberal Democrat Europe spokesperson Tavish Scott MSP said:

“As the country moves to contactless cards so the Tory government think a coin is the symbol of Brexit. If anything proves that they live in the past rather than the UK’s future it is this.

“Brexit isn’t something to celebrate. Public opinion has changed and the people deserve a chance to vote on the final deal and reverse this terrible decision.”
