Responding to Scottish Brexit Minister Mike Russell's statement to the Scottish Parliament on negotiations with the UK Government, Scottish Liberal Democrat Europe spokesperson Tavish Scott MSP said:
"It appears that the Scottish Government have now departed from their Welsh counterparts in reaching an agreement that is badly needed.
"We have been constantly assured that SNP Ministers would work to achieve an agreement across the governments of the UK. They now look set to depart from that position.
"Despite the question being put to him multiple times, Mike Russell was unable to give any reason why the Scottish, Welsh and UK Governments have not come to a deal.
"We are now in a position where there is still division. Uncertainty for businesses and citizens continues. That is not in Scotland’s interests."
