Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson, Mike Rumbles MSP has today said that the Minister for Transport will be held to account if the ScotRail improvement plan is not delivered in full.
The comments come after the Transport and Connectivity Committee where the Minister for Transport, Humza Yousaf, said he expects the ScotRail improvement plan to be delivered in full by the end of the financial year.
Commenting Mr Rumbles said:
“The issue of Scotrail’s performance is now firmly in the minister’s court. He has said he is confident that the improvement plan will be delivered in full. The minister has seen the plan, which has not been published in full yet. If by the end of the financial year we are still yet to see the improvements promised then he will be held accountable.
“Passengers have been faced with delays with our train services for far too long. I will be the first in the queue demanding answers from the Minister if these improvements are not seen.”
