Speaking after the publication of a report on hunting regulations in Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrat rural affairs spokesperson Mike Rumbles MSP called on the Scottish government to deliver workable regulations.
Mr Rumbles said: “Lord Bonomy’s report outlines the situation in Scotland very clearly - the current legislation does not work effectively.
“We need regulations that provide watertight rules for the police to enforce and for those who practice hunting to follow. That is the only way to guarantee that any loopholes are closed, preventing further animal cruelty.
“The Scottish Government should now take this opportunity to bring their actions into line with their rhetoric by delivering workable regulations and a code of conduct that meets the needs of our rural communities.”
