Rennie: Scotland has an economy that is erratic and unstable

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP has today said that the SNP have created an erratic and unstable economy. The comments come ahead of the publication of the latest GDP figures where if there is negative growth then the Scottish economy will officially be in a recession.

Commenting Mr Rennie said:

“Scotland has an economy that is erratic and unstable. Growth has been sporadic and unemployment has varied. The never ending threat of another independence referendum only makes things worse has meant that the SNP government has not implemented the measures necessary to overcome the challenges in the economy.

“The First Minister last week talked about an independence reset, however if we see that Scotland is in a recession then the First Minister will seriously need to think about a lot more than just independence.”
