Responding to reports of that PM Theresa May has struck a last minute deal with the EU in a bid to move Brexit talks on to the next phase, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie said:
"This is more a series of contradictory assurances than an agreement with clarity. It punts those contradictions into the next stage of the negotiations.
"The Conservative party are in complete chaos over Brexit. When Theresa May returns with a bad deal or heaven forbid, no deal at all, the British people must be allowed their say on it in a Brexit deal referendum, with the option to exit from Brexit."
