Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie has today said that “constitutional confusion” is holding the country back from fixing health and education, as the Scottish Government outlined plans for another independence referendum.
Speaking after the ministerial statement outlining the proposals, Willie Rennie said:
"The Scottish Government have learned absolutely nothing from the lessons of Brexit.
“Breaking up long term economic partnerships leads to nothing but chaos and economic upheaval.
“Today’s statement is evidence of the SNP’s constitutional confusion. They tell us that there are no preconditions to cross party talks on Scotland's future and then in the same breath call for another independence referendum.
“Lets move on from talking about independence and fix our schools and health service instead.”
