About
Ruaraidh became interested in the Liberal Democrats during the May 2007 election, but didn't become involved until after Nick Clegg was elected leader at the end of that year. After hearing Clegg interviewed and reading more about and from him, Ruaraidh took the plunge and joined the party.
Since then, he's been heavily involved in the Glasgow University Lib Dems, as well as Katy Gordon's campaign for Glasgow North and Jo Swinson MP's work in East Dunbartonshire. In November 2008, he co-founded Liberal Youth Scotland (the youth and student wing of the party) and in April 2009 was elected President..
In his non-political life, Ruaraidh is a final-year Microbiology student at the University of Glasgow. He enjoys reading (particularly the works of Scotland-based authors such as Iain Banks and Charles Stross), independent music and cooking, although whether anyone else enjoys the latter is debatable!
