Biography

Mike Rumbles (born 10 June 1956) has been the MSP for the West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine constituency since 1999.

Educated in County Durham, Sandhurst and then the University of Wales, Mike spent 15 years as a Major in the Education & Training Services branch of the British Army. He was then a team leader in business management at Aberdeen College before being elected to the Scottish Parliament in 1999.

During his time at the Scottish Parliament, Mike has been convenor of the Standards Committee, Health spokesperson and most recently, Local Government and Transport spokesperson.

In his spare time Mike enjoys hillwalking, playing tennis and chess.
